Between 'Ombak Rindu' and 'Dibawah lindungan Kaabah'

Well, i know it has been ages since i do writing about movies. Well... recently in Malaysia, everyone was talkinga about this new movie "Ombak Rindu" and how well it was doing till it beated "KL Gangster" (which i think was copycat from Young & Dangerous and sadly not even come close, how it was doing well was a wonder for me as the movie was shallow and really bad acting etc... always a case box office movies in Msia are shallow... erm make me wonder how ppl think there)... anyhow... i wont say 'Ombak Rindu' was bad... could be better and i watched it as Maya karin was in it... for me she is the best actress in Msia... n yes i must say she acted well... i am biased as i like her hahaha.... and well... plss Lisa Surihani... stop being an actress... how u won an award for best actress was a wonder... then again... in Msia... no actress can act... but ada ler a few yg ppl there wont look at.... and erm Aaron... trying to be cute just yuck hahahah well acceptable la... as the movie was doing well as we need this genre.... let see the sypnosis....Based upon the bestselling Malaysian novel, “Ombak Rindu” is about the romance between Izzah and Hariz, two lovers from different worlds. Izzah is a village girl who has been sold by her father to a nightclub in KL as a prostitute. However, Hariz, a rich man’s son, has bought her from the nightclub to keep as his own mistress. She begs him to make her an honest woman and he agrees, on the condition that she doesn’t claim any rights as a wife. Hariz soon softens his heart and learns to fall in love with Izzah. However, he is ordered by his mother to wed a childhood friend – Mila. and like typical drama... tis and tat... i bet most of u know of the story... very typical indeed and that the recipe for the success i believe.... i read the novel ages ago n yes it worked well for those era.... okay...
let us look at 'Dibawah Lindungan Kaabah'... the sypnosis is Hamid and Zainab comes from two families from different social levels. Hamid, who came from poor families and Zainab who come from wealthy families. Hamid has received grants from the father of Zaynab, is the mother of Hamid works Zaenab Family House. The proximity makes Zainab Hamid and then fell in love. They share the same dream that every nation is free to love and be loved, and dream of the pilgrimage to Mecca to perform.
Hamid has done everything to Zainab. In order to realize their love. To realize this dream. Through various obstacles they wanted a divorce, try to open one of the chains that were his regular hours.Even when his desire to Zainab was gone, he still fought for the desire to achieve his dreams and Zainab went to the Kaaba. Hamid trouble to Mecca for Zainab. Zainab here struggled to keep his love for Hamid.
acted superbly by the main actors, Herjunot Ali and Laudya c Bella... and the supporting acts were all brilliant. Seriously... this is where i see 'Ombak Rindu' as a piece of crap when compared to this movie.
Dont get me wrong.... but like yes... 'Ombak Rindu' will never come close to this movie in any way. Still this movie is period piece and in many ways it is applicable... and i read in one newspaper how he labelled "Ombak Rindu" as a cheap tragedy yes... it is right.
People said you will cry for Ombak and for me you will think back n reflect on yourself when you watch Dibawah.... the value is different... cry as love... while u will sit back n think about your life for dibawah.... amazing....
and while ppl like wah Izzah is so religious as wearing jilbab... but Zainab without full Jilbab far more islamic than Izzah....
wat i can say... wow... Indonesia makes better (well superb)religious movies than Msia.... Msia so far behind.... n yet they think they are superior (ego maniac).... anyhow... still watchable for Ombak n after seeing Dibawah... i feel ashamed and so small for thinking Ombak is good... thus why in my FB i put... it is a piece of crap..... but well... it was good and decent i reckon for Malay standard! Maya was great but everyone was brilliant in Dibawah...
Ciao....
